Carbon crunch.

The voluntary carbon market, where companies pay for credits to offset emissions they haven't eliminated, has had some notable success, but its potential to scale is limited, Bloomberg reports.

There will be some companies that will pay to remove their emissions, but as long as it remains a choice to do so, there will be a lot of companies that don't. And that's the crux of the issue.
