The U.S. Treasury issued final rules for how it will credit cleaner burning sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) that will be based on an analysis of emissions released from its inception to final use.

The guidance provides certainty to the industry that SAF with at least 50% fewer emissions than traditional jet fuels will qualify for the full $1.25 tax credit, created under the 2022 climate law.
