Preliminary data shows rich countries have likely finally met their promise to provide $100 billion a year in climate finance to poorer countries, 2 years after the deadline, the Guardian reported.

Some say this milestone will build up momentum ahead of COP28. Others will be more incredulous that rich countries will deliver the trillions actually needed to help poor countries decarbonize.
