There are good reasons to be optimistic about progress in addressing climate change, a once-downbeat climate scientist writes in The New York Times.

Going into the COP28 climate conference at the end of the month, an upbeat take on efforts to head off climate change certainly can’t hurt. Here’s one of the better ones I’ve seen.
