The United Arab Emirates planned to use its role as the host of UN climate talks as an opportunity to strike oil and gas deals, the BBC reported based on leaked documents.

What’s worse — and inappropriate — is that the documents were prepared by the UAE’s COP28 team. This is only going to add to already high skepticism regarding this year’s summit hosts.
