The president-designate of COP28 told the Financial Times that a fossil fuel phase down “is happening,” and he wants to assure that oil and gas companies aren’t seen as standing in the way.

The COP28 head has vascillated in the fossil fuel phase out debate, but is now arguing that fossil fuel industries should acknowledge demand for their products will decline.
