Garbage Lasagna.

Landfills release methane at almost three times the rate reported to federal regulators according to a new study published in the journal Science, The New York Times reports.

Aerial flyovers provided more accurate data. “You can sometimes get decades of trash that’s sitting under the landfill,” the scientist who led the study told the NYT. “We call it a garbage lasagna.”
