New research shows the earth is heating up at a record pace in line with record emissions from fossil fuel use, but the warming isn’t gaining momentum beyond that, AP News reports.

Good news, of sorts, in that there’s no evidence yet global warming has crossed a tipping point and started accelerating on its own. But another alarm bell fossil fuel emissions must fall, and fast.
