The Edison Electric Institute (EEI), a trade group for investor-owned electric utilities, to sue U.S. government over its new carbon limits for existing coal and new gas plants, POLITICO Pro reports.

The EEI, under Trump's former Energy Secretary, also persuaded the EPA to scrap carbon limits for existing gas-fired power plants, which currently are the largest emitting sources.
