Yahoo Finance spells out how little immediate impact the newly imposed U.S. tariffs would have on sales of Chinese made electric vehicles.

Of the 1.2 million electric vehicles (EVs) sold last year in the U.S., Chinese EVs made up just over 2%. Polestar is the only company affected, but it too will start making cars in South Carolina.
