Local opposition.

Researchers from Columbia University found 378 solar and wind projects facing what they called "significant" local opposition in 2023 in the U.S., up from 293 projects in 2022, E&E News reports.

Some of the opposition was due to concerns about how projects will look, but potentially more concerning is that the number of local objections based on false claims about renewables is rising.
