The president of COP28, Sultan Al Jaber, has claimed there is “no science” indicating that a phaseout of fossil fuels is needed to restrict global warming to 1.5C, the Guardian reported.

Al Jaber's comments (widely picked up by other media) stem from an online event from the end of November. It's set to add trouble to an already contentious UAE COP presidency.
