Electricity demand from data centers, artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency applications is set to double from current levels by 2026, Axios reports on an International Energy Agency report.

Curbing the expected demand will require a combination of regulations and energy efficiency because the public's appetite for AI, crypto and cloud computing isn't about to go away.
