Four Republicans joined Democrats in a Senate environment committee vote to approve the Prove It Act bill that would study the carbon footprint of U.S. goods versus imports, E&E News reports.

The committee vote not only indicates GOP support for a Senate vote, but I think it also lays the groundwork for passage of two other bills seeking border carbon taxes on imports.
