A top Saudi government official says the oil giant’s state-owned oil producer Saudi Aramco is halting its capacity expansion because of the transition to cleaner energy, Bloomberg reports.

This is a surprisingly blunt, clear comment considering when the company first made this move a couple weeks ago, experts speculated it was due to various factors, not necessarily directly this.
