The CEO of corporate climate watchdog Science Based Targets Initiative is out after the group agreed to let members use carbon offsets to meet their decarbonization goals, The Financial Times reports.

Luiz Amaral said he was stepping down for “personal reasons,” but his decision came amid calls from SBTi staff for Amaral to quit in the wake of the group's controversial decision in April.
