Norway on Tuesday voted in favour of allowing Arctic seabed bed mining, Reuters reported, with the country keen to see the practice happen on a commercial scale and secure critical minerals.

The move puts the country at odds with many of its neighbors, allies and climate activists who have all warned the scheme could have dire environmental consequences.
