AFP reports on the inauguration of UAE's carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility on the Gulf of Oman, where the first CO2 injection will take place during COP28 talks in Dubai.

While CCS is an essential technology for reducing fossil fuel emissions, I agree with the International Energy Agency that it is one of many and should not be used to "retain the status quo."
